Ladies and Gentlemen, Smash Events!

All my life I've been playing "bride".  I'm that girl that had been dreaming of her wedding day since I was in the womb and by the time my wedding day arrived, I had planned my wedding at least seven times from the age of two.  When I was a little girl, I played dress up and "wedding"  but as I grew older, being a wedding coordinator became my dream job.  Everyone has their list of jobs they'd love to have but probably never will have because they "don't pay the bills" or they "are just silly dreams" or they "aren't practical".  You all know exactly what I'm talking about!  Well, wedding coordinator was that job for me.  So when I was in college, I took the computer route instead.  It was the practical thing to do and I was genuinely interested in computers and the IT world for many years.  This career field has served me well in so many ways.  It has paid my bills, it has been stable, and I've met incredible people, the most incredible being my husband, David.
As David and I have been on our marvelous and rewarding adventure called marriage, my hobby and dream of wedding coordinator has solidified into something much more.  The pieces have fallen into place for me to do wedding coordination and event planning in a more official capacity.

So, it is my pleasure and honor to announce that I have started my own business as a wedding and event planner!

It's called Smash Events :)
My mother and father had a nickname for me which aptly described my way of life.  Apparently, I was a destructive child.  They called me "Smash" or "Smashlee Ann" (Ann is my middle name).  Also, there were a couple ladies in our church who picked up on the nickname as well.  Then later, my friend and fellow high school cheerleader, Tiffany, also picked up the nickname and calls me Smash to this day.  But, for those who are not aware of this lovely nickname, "Smash" is a wonderful way to describe a fantastic party or a fun time that they've experienced.  Hence the name Smash Events.

I feel as though I'm truly stepping into an era of my life that was divinely inspired in me as a young girl.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for Smash Events but I know He has great things planned because He is a great God who sees things 100 times bigger than we see them.   He plants visions in us and then gives us opportunities to nurture them and I believe that Smash Events is one of those special opportunities in my life.

If you or anyone you know is newly engaged or planning an event and needs inspiration, all of the work done, and/or guidance, please mention Smash Events to them.  My website is a splash page with my contact information for now, but the full website will be up soon.  In the meantime, you can see pictures of my work on Facebook, here on this blog and follow me on Twitter.

Thank you to all my friends and family for their love and support throughout the years.  I really value all of you more than you know.
